Read the Instruction Manual
Read the instruction manual thoroughly. As it is a power tool, reading the instruction manual is essential. You will find some safety tips on there like wearing an eyeglass and ear protection. Also keep your hand at least 6 inches away from the saw blade while using a miter saw. Check the extension cord and ensure that electric power is sufficient for the miter saw.
Set the Table
Set up a table for the miter saw. For large materials, you can use your floor. But set up a miter saw table for regular use is the best solution. With a workbench or table, you will feel more comfortable, and performance will be way better than you think. You can use a miter saw stand as well.
Learn Different Parts
This is very important. You have to have proper knowledge about all the parts of the miter saw. You will find an angle scale an angle indicator on the front bed, a mechanism for locking the saw while not in use, blade guard which ensures safety, a power switch. Additional features, like laser guides, saw tilt scales and locking clamps for securing the work section differ from saw to saw.
Release the Saw
Release the saw and make the blade travel up and down for several times before turning it on. This will adjust you with your miter saw, and you will be able to know the exact path of the saw. By doing this, you can reduce the chance of any sudden accident.
Put the Object you Want to Cut
Now put the material on the table or stand, mark the area where you want to cut. Lower your blade to ensure that your blade is in the exact position.
Now bring it on the top position as you already checked that the blade is on right place. Turn the power on and gently bring it down and push the saw blade into the material. Now let that blade run through the object entirely. And shut down the power! That’s all!
